T.O.M.A, which stands for "Michel Ange's Trumpets," is a unique experience that combines folklore and modernity, taking us on a grand adventure from philosophical, historical, and musical perspectives. Maalouf's sophisticated and captivating music offers listeners an impressive and inspiring experience.
"T.O.M.A" is also the name of the trumpet brand created by Ibrahim Maalouf in collaboration with French manufacturers. Playing the four-valve trumpet, invented by his father Nassim Maalouf over half a century ago, which allows for the playing of quarter tones instead of the traditional three-valve trumpet, the artist also teaches this unique instrument to young musicians.
Having performed in over 40 countries in the last decade, Ibrahim Maalouf has filled major arenas from Paris to Istanbul; sharing the stage with legendary names such as Wynton Marsalis, Jon Batiste, Josh Groban, and Sting. In 2021, Maalouf gave a concert in front of the Eiffel Tower to six million people on Bastille Day. In 2022, he received his first Grammy nomination in the "Best Global Music Album" category for the seven-part symphonic work "Queen of Sheba" with Angelique Kidjo. He earned his second Grammy nomination in the "Best Global Music Performance" category for the song "Todo Colores" from his latest album, "Capacity To Love".
